Wine Enthusiast 96:
The wine is textured and tight, hinting at steeliness and showing a salty character that contrasts with the lemon flavor. These tones are joined by tropical elements, giving a ripe, fruity finish.
Now don’t get me wrong: I wouldn’t put this quite at the level of Haut-Brion Blanc. But the Wine Enthusiast rates it even higher than that $1300 dry white Graves – and this definitely is a great white Graves.
It’s also hard to think of another dry white wine from anywhere that’s this classic and profound for only $40.
The top vintage yet of a wine Clive Coates called “one of the greatest white Bordeaux.”
