Gardini actually rated this 110 points (which he occasionally does for a wine he considers transcendent) naming it his Cum Laude wine of the vintage – over a lot of very famous Barolos at up to $1000:
Memorable was the 2019 vintage of Brunella, Castiglione Falletto subzone, the western part of the Villero cru, a juicy Barolo that shows great freshness. Raspberry, blood orange, bitter licorice, then touches of black pepper at the nose. The taste shows density and tension, salty-sapid tannins, great balance enhanced by a finish of great persistence.
