The top Mascot yet – for both Jancis Robinson (the only critic to have reviewed it) and in a Mascot vertical reported on CellarTracker.

The winery says:

The wine is beautifully supple with a broadly fanned aromatic spectrum and an e‑ortless depth of fruit. From a center point on the palate, the 2019 vintage undulates outward in all directions. Gentle, velvety swells pause and fold in on themselves, their liquid whorls of refined tannin and gratifying acidity gliding across the surface of smooth curves before retreating gradually to reveal, on the finish, the burnished dimensions beneath.

And Robinson:

Bright crimson with some evolution at the rim. Actually there is quite a bit of interest on the nose here. This has lift as well as Napa lusciousness and good structure, balance and length. Throbs with life on the long finish. Quite impressive! And broachable.

She actually rates it above quite a few vintages of the $1600 Harlan!

And also top Mascot in a CellarTracker vertical tasting:

In the nose, the wine smells really smooth, velvety fresh juicy red and black fruit, nice floral notes, a thin spice layer, nice oak treatment adding layers but without taking anything from the fruit away. As it warms up, the wine shows a bit more alcohol, black fruit liqueur, cherry, currant, some sour cherry and plum notes.

In the palate, the wine shows juicy character, dusty tannins, blue and black fruit, nice oak treatment again, quite warm, black fruit liqueur, bold flavors but rather elegant for Napa standards, med body, med finish.

Very fresh but also the more balanced of the tasting.

In fact, they vastly preferred it even to the 2018.

As always, this one is painfully limited.
