Wine Enthusiast 94:
This is a rich and thoroughly satisfying Cab, starting with aromas of roasted boysenberry, cocoa, violet and toasty oak on the nose. The palate is cohesive and neatly woven, with rich black fruit, mocha and espresso flavors that are wrapped in firm but balanced tannins.
And the Connoisseur’s Guide:
This is not the first time that we have been impressed with this winery's very affordable offerings, and, in a market where the prices for well-made Cabernet Sauvignons continue to climb, it stands out as an absolute bargain. It flirts with suggestions of classic varietal cassis while emphasizing black cherries and blueberries first, and it is a structured, moderately full-bodied wine whose well-proportioned tannins will support a good four or five years of age without being so conspicuous as to dissuade near-term drinking. *Good Value*
Vinous rates it Outstanding, too.
And from Vivino:
Incredible! Love this wine. I let it breath for 2 hours and it seemed to drink well beyond its price point. Rich, smooth, oaky, dark fruits, hints of cedar...
Wow - this is a seriously powerful wine, lashings of blackcurrant and elderberry with vanilla and pencil shavings on the palate, very smooth, just off dry and a very full mouthfeel
This is one of the best cabs we have ever had. A new favorite!! Lots of plum sauce, fig, brown sugar, raspberry, and pepper. Awesome!!
The market’s top California Cabernet, the top-rated Paso Robles Cabernet under $60 (and rated higher than some famous ones over $100), and at the best price around.
This one’s a winner all around.
