Pouilly-Loché, which is nestled into the prime heart of Pouilly-Fuissé, is the smallest appellation of the Maconnais. And though it’s seldom seen, its best wines (from the finest vineyard sites like this) easily compete with far more expensive Pouilly-Fuissés.
This one, with its much greater richness, minerality and complexity, just blew us away.
As terrific a bargain as the Perraud Macon-Villages is, and it is, this one is an even more impressive white Burgundy bargain.
