Suckling 91 – the top Columbia Valley Cabernet yet for this superb Washington winery:
Ripe red cherries, redcurrants, wild thyme and dried herbs on the nose. Medium-to full-bodied with gentle tannins. There’s pleasant, stony character on the palate, which is driven by dark fruit and berries.
And the Wine Enthusiast agrees:
The aromas give notes of black currant, plum and struck match, showing a purity that brings appeal. Plush, plump-feeling blue fruit flavors follow. It's delightful.
This may be priced like an everyday drinker – at least here…but it’s so much more.
Waterbrook, by the way, is one of Walla Walla’s pioneering producers.
