Tasting Panel 92 and “Publisher’s Pick” at $30:
A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot that spent 14 months in 25% new French oak barrels. Dried heather, licorice, and wild strawberry are surrounded by gentled tannins. Cola and bittersweet chocolate merge with cedar for a sassy, rustic finish.
This is quite simply the best Melka Cab blend we’ve had under $40. And maybe even as good as his Royal Prince Cabs!
This was in fact named “The Best Bordeaux Blend” in all of the Sierra Foothills.
