The French Guide Hachette rates this both a Vin Remarquable and a Coup de Couer, saying:
A favorite for a Savigny of rare fullness, which benefited from a long vatting and the generosity of the vintage. The dark color sets the tone for an intense, sunny nose, with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe red fruits, and oak. Coated and well-melted tannins in a very full texture give this palate an irresistible charm. The powerful finish brings the tasting to a beautiful close. Definitely one for long aging.
Though the label doesn’t say so, it’s from old vines in the Pimentieres vineyard, just under the top Savigny premier crus, so is unusually rich and full for Savigny, yet as always here, not overdone or over-extracted.
