Retail $50. Medium to dark color dark fruit, earthy, and just a touch of funk. The palate is lovely: fruity, balanced, tart. Everything one would want in a Pinot. Outstanding. 94 Points.

The winery says:
As 2021 brought below average rainfall to California, the quality of the grapes prospered producing wines bursting with intense aromas, flavors and structure. A slow and steady growing season with temperate weather, a lack of heat spikes and mild temperatures through harvest, elongated the growing season and set the stage for the grapes to achieve full phenolic flavor development while maintaining fresh, ideally bright acidity. The drier soils from bud break to harvest contributed to an average crop size of small berries with deeply concentrated flavors, resulting in a standout vintage. Grapes were hand-sorted and gently destemmed, then tank fermented and barrel-aged for 11 months in neutral French oak barrels, with a small portion in new barrels from select coopers.
TASTING NOTES This garnet color pinot noir opens with enticing red fruit aromas of cherries jubilee and red plum, with a background of red rose petals. The mediumbodied palate is structured with youthful tannins. This lively wine first greets with black cherry, red plum, and dried fig flavors, balanced by a lingering finish with baking spice and salty ocean air.
