This is the jewel of the tiny Collotte domain in Marsannay. Young Isabelle Collotte is now the winemaker at the domain her grandfather established – helping her father, who dropped out of school at 16 to start working the vineyards.
It’s from vines planted in 1955, mainly in Chambolle-Musigny “Aux Echanges,” a superb, part premier cru vineyard which adjoins “Beaux Bruns.”
This is a denser and richer style of Chambolle. Partly from the location and partly from its old-vine concentration. Yet it retains the unique elegance that makes great Chambolle Burgundy’s most beautiful and captivating wine.
