Suckling 96:
An absolute stunner from grenache vines planted in 1904, 1910 and 1920, co-planted with some other local varietals. It shows aromas of spiced cherries, forest berries, baking spices, Mediterranean herbs and bay leaves. It's medium-bodied with very fine tannins. Incredible density. So much weight, yet it is harmonious and gracious. Intense core of spices gives vitality on the mid-palate. Bright fruit, transparent and pure, with a constant influence of peppercorns and spices. Tension and vitality mix beautifully. Focused, with a velvety texture and a long finish with more peppery character.
Dunnuck 96, too:
Tasted from multiple samples, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape will clearly be a beautiful wine. Black raspberries, violets, Provençal herbs, ground pepper, and orange blossom notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered, gorgeously textured 2022 that should have plenty of up-front appeal yet also evolve for 20 years.
