The San Francisco Chronicle, which prices this at $30, says:

Great Chardonnay that hits all the bells & whistles; ripe core fruit with layers of sweet oak and cream flavors; balanced with a long finish.

The winery says:

The 2022 Michael Pozzan Sonoma Coast Chardonnay shows generous aromas of red pear, creme brûlée, and a hint of honeysuckle. In the mouth, the wine has a smooth weight on the tongue, with flavors of rich caramel, honeyed pear, and lingering finish of cinnamon.

Aged in all French oak, and from a prime Sonoma Coast vineyard, it’s rare to see a Chardonnay like this at $30 – let alone only $16.99.

Winemaker Molly Lippett Lyman, by the way, has worked with Heidi Barrett, Philippe Melka and Julien Fayard, and at some of Napa’s most prestigious wineries. Pozzan calls her his “secret weapon.”

This would blow away just about any $30 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay you could name…and there aren’t that many of those! It’s simply richer and fuller than you’d expect even at $30, but also way more poised and balanced.
