Dredge explains:
This has all the trappings of a textural, barrel-fermented and aged Chardonnay, but think bright, fun, & smackable thanks to a splash of zippy Riesling. This will please a wide range of Chardie lovers, combining Côte de Beaune-esque richness with the classically Tasmanian, lean, mouthwatering style.
Suckling loved it, too:
Straight chardonnay. Praline, almond croissant and pithy white peach, ever so subtle. This is a simple wine in terms of its flavor profile, in the very best sense. Paradoxically, texturally sophisticated with a reliance on a raft of well-placed phenolics as much as a salty rail of freshness, conferring composure and drinkability. There is a pressing immediacy to this that is joyous. Drink or hold... briefly. Screw cap.
And it earned 94 points from Australia’s Budburst.
Just an insanely delicious wine!
It’s also unfined and unfiltered with a very low dose of sulfur.
