Rock solid, medium-bodied, Sangiovese of freshness and typicity (tipicità, to be fancy), offering cherry (sour and dark), damp earth and spice, good crunch and light tanning grip. There’s a bit of liquorice in the mix too, and it’s an affordable and easygoing mid-week wine that’d go well with a hearty spag bol, or pizza or something like that. Good. I’m into it.
Sangiovese can be such a beautiful as well as food-friendly wine, and this one is certainly both.
