Most Champagnes at this price are predominantly Pinot Meunier, but this one is 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, from a small grower family that has been farming Champagne for over 200 years.
Vinous rates it both outstanding and superior to almost all of the famous big house Bruts, including our favorite Pol Roger, saying:
(90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay; 9 g/l dosage): Bright straw. Expansive aromas of ripe citrus and orchard fruits pick up hints of tarragon and musky rhubarb with air. Chewy and broad on the palate, showing good heft to its blood orange and nectarine flavors. Succulent, firm and focused, finishing with bright mineral cut and very good persistence.
The best Champagne value we’ve seen in years.
