Best ever for Decanter:
A true illustration of the art of the blend, the 2016 Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir radiates a heavenly bouquet of elderberry, sandalwood, leather and mushrooms. Rich and supple on the palate, it reveals a complex array of dark fruit in a fine-tuned frame of power and elegance. Its silky-smooth tannins leave you with a lingering finish of pure satisfaction.
And for Suckling:
This is 100% estate-grown fruit and has a dark-cherry and berry nose with blueberry and spicy-earth nuances also in the mix. The palate has a very plush and succulent feel with a smoothly rendered array of fine, silky tannins and a composed, fleshy and dark-fruited finish. Drink or hold.
And for Northwest wine writer Owen Bargreen:
This is the 30th Anniversary of this iconic Pinot Noir bottling from Domaine Serene. This particular edition was aged for sixteen months in 65% new French oak prior to bottling. The aromas are simply sensational ranging from cardamon accents to peat moss, black truffle shavings to bright red fruits and citrus zest that all amalgamate marvelously. The texture is beautiful as this silky wine effortlessly dances across the mid-palate. The seamless character of this wine really entices. as dense dark and red fruits pack this incredible wine. The 2016 Evenstad is once again up there with the best vintages ever produced
Also best ever for the International Wine Report, and second-best-ever for Vinous.
Second best vintage ever for CellarTracker – where like the 2013, its most recent reviews are the best.
Direct from the winery, perfectly cellared and significantly less than the current vintage.
