From one of our favorite French importers, Charles Neal, this is an utterly classic Chablis villages. It’s mainly from quite old vines, all grown in Kimmeridgian soil.
If you missed out on the superb 2019 and 2020(and a lot of people did!), this 2021 is even better…as well as a more archetypal Chablis. But alas, even more limited.
As Decanter says of 2021 Chablis:
Chablis lovers can look forward to a vintage of classically styled wines of individual character, though volumes are well down after a difficult growing season. Find producers you favour and snap them up while you can.
It’s a Chablis vintage which is the first since 2017 to fully demonstrate the ‘classical’ elements that make this wine so distinctive. Chablis 2021 is a vintage full of vibrant acidity, one which shows a particularly strong terroir influence, and has produced wines which will reward careful cellaring.
