It is modern and decidedly floral in its sensorial profile and recalls notes of jasmine, helichrysum, hawthorn and guarana. Full body, immensely noble and tasty structure and a finish that is enhanced from the center of the palate onwards. It is graceful, tasty and modern. Important but never heavy. Better from 2026.
And 94 from Decanter – above even every Chateau Lascombes except 2023:
Juicy, fruity and fun, this is a nice, light-hearted take on the vintage where nothing feels too much. Still quite tannic at the moment, they’re prominent but provide a nice texture and cushioning to the palate with clean red and blue berry fruit and lively acidity. Nicely constructed with real presence and coherence in the mouth.
Also best ever for Vinous:
The 2023 Chevalier de Lascombes is a gorgeous second wine. Plump, juicy and inviting, the Merlot-based Chevalier will be ready to drink with minimal cellaring. Supple contours frame a core of plum, black cherry, new leather, mocha and licorice. This bold, luscious Margaux offers tons of immediacy. (Drink between 2025-2035)
