The only other store in the world that actually has this now is Eataly in Boston, which has 2 bottles left at $18.99.
It’s 100% Montepulciano, grown at high altitude, and handled as gently as possible. The results are absolutely lip-smacking.
Its UK importer describes this well:
"Vivacious Cherry red in colour and the fruits follow, both on the nose and palate, seriously fruity rose, dry, deep fruited and wonderfully balanced, this is a culinary gift, so versatile!”
As does Irish wine writer (and master somm) Suzanne Redmond:
I love the nose on this wine. As soon as I poured it, I could smell lush cherries and elderflowers, as well as strawberries. It reminded me of walking through a forest on a beautiful summers evening.
On the palate it really came alive with some earthy tones mixing in with the wild strawberries, cherries, raspberries giving it an almost light autumnal taste – which doesn’t mean wait until September, but rather a rose with more depth, structure and juiciness. In my tasting notes I wrote, ‘a hug in a glass’; I think from that you can guess I really enjoyed it.
We rarely say you should buy a wine just because we say so…but trust on this one!
You’ll be glad you did.
