This one has no dosage, and is thus labelled “extra brut.” It’s also in very useful half-bottles.

Only one other store has this in halves, at $32.99, and the lowest bottle price is $55. The only NC shop to have these halves sold ot of them at $42.

Here’s a bit on this very serious small grower:

The vines have an average age of 43 years with a few rows of Chardonnay planted at 11,000 plants per hectare that date back to 1923.  David farms organically and is in conversion to obtaining certification. The vineyard is planted on low-yielding rootstocks and David cultivates natural grasses between the vine rows to further limit yields. He vinifies each parcel separately according to the specific rootstock “Porte-greffe”.  After years of adjusting the dosage level with each disgorgement, David has settled on finishing all of his Champagnes with a dosage of 0g/l.

Verte du Vin rates this Rosé outstanding, saying:

The nose is fruity, creamy and offers a fine freshness. It reveals notes of fresh cherries and fine notes of fresh fruit (apple, vine peach) associated with a touch of raspberry, quince, lemon and a very discreet touch of pink grapefruit. The palate is fruity, dynamic, relatively fine, relatively suave and offers fat, a good volume and roundness. The effervescence is very fine and dynamic. In the mouth this Champagne expresses notes of raspberry, white peach and lemon associated with fine touches of mandarin and fresh small red berries. Good length.
